WHAT IS JUVEDERM ULTRA PLUS (30HV)?
Famous by the name of Juvederm Ultra Plus in the USA, Juvederm 30HV originates from a non-animal source of Hyaluronic acid. Using biosynthetic methods, the hyaluronic acid is created using natural means and results in a viscoelastic, transparent and homogeneous gel. It is this gel that restores the beauty of the skin.
HOW DOES JUVEDERM ULTRA PLUS (30HV) WORK?
Ever wondered why the skin is so elastic in nature? It is because of hyaluronic acid that exists in the spaces between elastin and collagen layers in the skin. And since skin covers the whole body, it is but natural that hyaluronic acid is found everywhere! However, this is not the only function of hyaluronic acid. The joints remain lubricated, the skin acquires a volume, and the eyes get a certain shape—only because of this substance. When the skin begins to sag, it is heralding the process of aging. The layers of natural support are either totally lost or reduced.
Juvederm Ultra Plus is meant to re-introduce the missing hyaluronic acid into the body, thus providing essential nutrients as well as hydration to the skin. It is but natural that the skin will achieve a rejuvenated look after this treatment. As hyaluronic acid gets re-absorbed into the body, the medium-depth wrinkles get corrected. The effects of this correction can be noticed on the forehead, cheeks, nasolabial folds, mild-to-moderate nasal furrows, lip augmentation and glabellar lines.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN JUVEDERM ULTRA (24HV) AND JUVEDERM ULTRA PLUS (30HV)?
Though the basic functions are the same, Juvederm Ultra Plus is a more dense form of this cosmetic injection. It is also the most cross-linked version. Hence, it has a greater filling-up-volume effect where cheeks, lips, naso-genian folds, general folds, and very deep nasolabial folds are concerned.
OF NOTE—
The after-effects are sustained for a long time, after the administration of Juvederm Ultra Plus, but all good things do not last. In time, the product dissolves within the skin, making it necessary to have a follow-up treatment. Of course, this depends on you and your desire to maintain the earlier results.
MANUFACTURER’S SPECIFICATIONS:
(1) Immediately after your Juvederm Ultra Plus treatment, you can expect slight redness, swelling, tenderness or an itching sensation in the treated area. This is a normal result of the injection. The discomfort is temporary, and generally disappears in a few days.
(2) During the first 48 hours after your treatment, you will be asked not to massage or rub the treated area.
(3) If you have had a lip enhancement, avoid puckering your lips for the first two days after the treatment.
(4) Until the actual swelling and redness have resolved, do not expose the treated area to intense heat (e.g. in a solarium or by sunbathing), or to extreme cold.
(5) The safety and effectiveness of this treatment in areas other than facial wrinkles and folds (such as lips) have not been established in controlled clinical studies.
(6) Do not go in for this therapy, if you have severe allergies marked by a history of anaphylaxis or presence of multiple severe allergies, or you have a history of allergies to gram-positive bacterial proteins.
(7) Patients who are using substances that can prolong bleeding, such as aspirin or ibuprofen, as with any injection, may experience increased bruising or bleeding at the injection site. You should inform your healthcare professional before treatment if you are using these types of substances.
(8) If laser treatment, chemical peeling, or any other procedure based on active dermal response is considered after treatment with this cosmetic injection, there is a possible risk of an inflammatory reaction at the treatment site.
(9) This should be used with caution in patients on immunosuppressive therapy, or therapy used to decrease the body's immune response, as there may be an increased risk of infection.
(10) The safety of Juvederm injections for use during pregnancy, in breastfeeding females, or in patients under 18 years has not been established.
(11) The safety of Juvederm in patients with a history of excessive scarring (eg, hypertrophic scarring and keloid formations) and pigmentation disorders has not been studied.
